His name was Sonny- Least that’s what he was called by his buddies
He wanted to find a way to get paid and make crazy money
He had a pretty face and a high IQ, a smooth talker with grace
That knew all of the right moves to make women swoon
He was convinced he had a gift
So he moved to the city, he would soon be a pimp
All them other simps better watch they backs
And guard their hoes cause sweet Sonny’s coming for cash
He said, “I’m gonna kick, I’m gonna fight”
He met a girl on the strip and turned her out the first night
Her name was Christine, she was just 16
And naive enough, she couldn’t see that he was still green
On that fast track, Sonny was learning it as he went
Chris would gather the slats while he sat back on the bench
He’d have her working twelve hour shifts like, “bitch-
You’re gonna make daddy a millionaire, you’re gonna make me rich”
A couple years passed and as times wore fatal
Sonny had amassed him a five whore stable
But Christine was still his bottom bitch, she had it sewn
She even had a master key to Sonny’s lavish home
Still, she felt she wasn’t receiving her due
She had a plan, she’d be damned if she didn’t see it through
If she could get Sonny out the pic for a bit
She’d get her mitts on the cash and take a one-way trip
She said, “I’m gonna kick, I’m gonna fight”
Cause the caper she devised would take shape tonight
She flagged down a roller and told him to hold tight
She unfolded a plot that was coated in gold light
She said, “I know you’re tryina pin Sonny for a wrap
I have a fool-proof strategy to do just that
First, you go undercover and you stay where you’re at
I’ll tell him I just turned a trick and that the john pulled a jack
I’m sayin’, Sonny’s set to come searching for the scratch
He gon’ try to scrap and then you flash your badge
I’ll testify and Sonny’ll fall flat
Then I’ll snatch the cash and we’ll match half and half
She ran down the con and Sonny was seeing red
He was gonna find this John and he was gonna crack his head
If you’re messing with his wad, that shit was worthy of death
He hopped inside of his hog and left Chris watching the nest
He was moving like a cruise missile, straight for the-
Location she gave him where the player pulled the Georgia
And there he was, steady holding up a lamp post
Sonny flew outta the coupe and grabbed hold of the man’s throat
“I’m gonna kick, I’m gonna fight”
Sonny drew back his fist and busted him in his eye
Then, “woop, woop”, the man pulled out the badge
“You’ve assaulted an officer” he said as he laughed
Needless to say Sonny got cuffed and booked
The pig met with Chris to exchange to loot
“Lemme have a look” he said as he grabbed the bag
Then he pistol whipped Chris and snatched the whole stash
It's been only a year since I heard Deca on a random chance on a shuffle recommendation. Within that year, Deca rose up the ranks of one of the best lyricists I've heard. The body of art within each project isn't something one can digest in one play through. I actually find it difficult to put a fav on a playlist without needing to revisit an album in its entirety. As a listener and fan of your music, thanks for all you create and share with us. damoclesnuka
Every single time I'm like, "He can't possibly get better than the last album." Every single time, I'm dead wrong. Super surprised to see that it was mastered right up Wadsworth from my old spot in Lakewood. 𝕍 𝕚 𝕣 𝕘 𝕠 ♕ 𝕍 𝕒 𝕟 𝕕 𝕒 𝕝
